Abu Dhabi hosts the Arab Monetary Fund’s Golden Jubilee and the opening of the 17th Ordinary Session of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers on Monday 28 September 2026, the Emirates News Agency reported on 27 September. The UAE Ministry of Finance organises the gathering with the Fund under the theme of fifty years of Arab financial cooperation. The session reviews fiscal-policy presentations, including artificial intelligence, sustainable infrastructure financing and BEPS, and high-level talks continue on 29 September.

Abu Dhabi’s financial calendar turns to regional cooperation on Monday 28 September 2026 as the Arab Monetary Fund marks five decades since its establishment alongside the opening of the 17th Ordinary Session of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on 27 September.

The gathering is organised by the UAE Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the Arab Monetary Fund under the theme “Fifty Years of Arab Financial Cooperation… Together Towards a More Integrated Arab Financial Future.” Arab finance ministers and representatives of regional and international financial institutions are due to discuss economic resilience and current global challenges.

WAM reported that the programme is held under the patronage of the UAE President and includes an official Golden Jubilee celebration featuring a documentary on the Fund’s milestones in supporting monetary and financial stability across Arab countries, followed by a recognition ceremony for founders and contributors.

The 17th Ordinary Session will review reports from the Council Secretariat and specialised presentations by the Arab Monetary Fund on artificial intelligence in fiscal policy and public-finance conditions across Arab countries. The agenda also includes World Bank Group remarks on sustainable infrastructure financing and an OECD briefing on international tax developments related to Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS), as well as coordination of a unified Arab position towards international financial institutions.

Earlier WAM coverage of the same events noted that high-level discussions continue on 29 September, including a roundtable on macroeconomic resilience amid geopolitical disruptions. For markets, the meetings matter as a policy forum for Arab fiscal coordination rather than a single issuer disclosure.
