Corrections
Last updated
When we get something wrong, we correct it on the article and record it here. Corrections are appended, never silently overwritten: the original error stays visible so a reader can see what changed.
How corrections work
A substantive error — a wrong figure, a misattributed statement, a mistaken company or date — produces a correction notice on the article, dated, describing what was wrong and what is now right. Typographical fixes that do not change meaning may be made without a notice.
Where both Arabic and English versions of a story are affected, we correct each language on its own page.
What is not a correction
Updating a story with new information after publication is an update, not a correction, when the original was accurate at the time. We label updates clearly when they change the reader's understanding of events.
Reporting an error
Use the contact form and choose Corrections. Include the article URL and the specific claim you believe is wrong. Corrections raised with a primary source attached are resolved fastest. The newsroom reviews every report; we reply when more detail is needed.
