Sharjah Islamic Bank PJSC said on Sunday, 27 September 2026, that it has priced a USD 500 million five-year sukuk amid strong investor demand.

According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the transaction attracted an order book of about USD 1.3 billion, or 2.6 times the issue size. The notes were priced at a final yield of 5.85%, equivalent to a spread of 105 basis points over five-year US Treasuries.

The deal is Sharjah Islamic Bank’s thirteenth sukuk since the lender entered the international capital markets in 2006. Chief executive Mohamed Abdalla said the issuance reflects investor confidence in the bank’s financial performance and long-term strategy, and that capital-market funding remains central to its financing plans and balance-sheet management.

Deputy chief executive Ahmed Saad said the oversubscribed book confirms investor appetite for the bank as an issuer and strengthens flexibility in managing funding needs and diversifying liquidity sources.

The announcement lands while UAE sovereign retail T-Sukuk II subscriptions remain open through 28 September 2026, keeping sukuk firmly in the local funding spotlight. Capital Wire is treating the SIB print as a same-day banking funding story for DFM readers rather than a routine board notice.
