Most Gulf equity boards closed lower on Monday, 28 September 2026, the first full regional session after Washington dismissed Tehran’s overture to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, while the UAE finished split. The Tadawul All Share Index fell 0.96% to 10,579.18. Dubai’s DFM General Index rose 0.30% to 5,998.33 and Abu Dhabi’s FTSE ADX General Index declined 0.40% to 10,159.48.

Energy prices were higher on the day versus Friday’s Brent settlement of $104.32, keeping the energy tape firm as regional equities digested the headlines.

Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul All Share Index fell 0.96% to 10,579.18, down 102.66 points, according to exchange prints reported by Arab News. Volume reached about 191.2 million shares worth roughly SR3.48 billion, with 52 advancers against 208 decliners. The parallel Nomu market slipped 0.41% to 21,460.22, and the MSCI Tadawul 30 lost 0.9% to 1,425.47. A Reuters-filed Gulf bourses wire carried on Zawya cited Saudi National Bank about 1.7% lower and Saudi Aramco about 1.1% softer among heavyweights.

Dubai’s DFM General Index rose 0.30% to 5,998.33 versus Friday, helped by a roughly 1.4% gain in Emirates NBD. Abu Dhabi’s FTSE ADX General Index declined 0.40% to 10,159.48.

Qatar’s QE Index closed at 9,410.19, down 0.46%, with QNA’s close report listing 12 gainers, 35 losers and six unchanged. Oman’s MSX 30 advanced 0.62% to 7,590.256, leading the region’s main boards. Kuwait’s All Share was essentially flat at 8,844.38, up 0.40 points. Bahrain’s All Share finished around 1,905.71, effectively unchanged. Outside the Gulf core, Amman’s ASE eased 0.12% to 4,171.91 and Egypt’s EGX 30 dropped 1.06% to 52,468.71.
