Dubai Islamic Bank PJSC (DFM: DIB) said its board on 30 September 2026 appointed Fadel Abdulbaqi Al Ali as a non-executive independent director with immediate effect after Central Bank of the UAE no-objection, and elected him chairman immediately, with ratification at the next general assembly. Membership runs until the AGM in 2029 per the appointment form.

DUBAI — Dubai Islamic Bank PJSC (DFM: DIB) said its board of directors, meeting on Wednesday, 30 September 2026 at 15:30, appointed Fadel Abdulbaqi Al Ali as a non-executive independent director with immediate effect for the remainder of the current board term, after receiving a no-objection from the Central Bank of the UAE. The appointment is to be presented to shareholders for ratification at the next general assembly, according to a Results of BOD Meeting disclosure filed with the Dubai Financial Market.

The board also elected Fadel Abdulbaqi Al Ali as chairman with immediate effect and discussed other routine matters. A companion Appointment of a BOD member disclosure form says his membership runs from 30 September 2026 until the annual general meeting to be held in 2029.

The form cites more than 15 years at Citibank; prior roles as deputy chief executive and group chief of operations at First Abu Dhabi Bank and as chief executive of Dubai Holding; and current roles as chairman of the Dubai Financial Services Authority, a board member of Commercial International Bank of Egypt, and chairman of Majid Al Futtaim Capital.
